Եսասեր Հսկան

 

Ամեն օր երեխաները դպրոցից վերադառնալիս մտնում են Հսկայի այգին ու խաղում։ Դամեծ ու չքնաղ այգի էր՝ ծածկված փափուկ,կանաչ խոտով։ Թռչուններընստում էին ծառերին և երգում այնպեսանուշ, որ երեխաները թողնում էին խաղն ուլսում։

 

Սակայն մի օր հսկան, որը յոթ տարի մնացել էր Կորնուել մարդակերի մոտ, մի օր վերադառնում է։ Նա վռնդում է այգուց խաղացող երեխաներին, այգու շուրջը բարձր պարիսպ է շինում ու միցուցատախտակ կախում. ՕՐԻՆԱԶԱՆՑՆԵՐԸ ԿՊԱՏԺՎԵՆ:

 

Խեղճ երեխաներն այլևս խաղալու տեղչունեն։ Փորձում են խաղալ ճանապարհիվրա, բայց ճանապարհը փոշոտ է և նրանցդուր չի գալիս։ Դասերից հետո միշտթափառում են բարձր պարսպի շուրջը ևխոսում չքնաղ այգու մասին։

 

— Ի՜նչ երջանիկ էինք այնտեղ,– ասում ենմիմյանց։

Every day, as they were coming from school, the children used to go and play in the Giant’s garden. It was a large lovely garden with soft green grass.The birds sat on the trees and sang so sweetly that the children used to stop their games and listen to them.

But one day, the giant who had stayed with Cornish ogre for seven years , came back. He throws out the children from the garden, builds a high walls all around the garden and put up a notice-board.

Trasspassers will be prosecuted.

The poor children had now nowhere to play. They tried to play on the road, but the road was very dusty and they did not like it. They used to wander round the high wall when their lessons were over, and talk about the beautiful garden inside.

‘How happy we were there,’ they said to each other.
